Good Cents Inspections is owned and operated by Ben Chambless, who is joined by inspector Stacy Reed. Together, the two inspectors come to you with multifaceted experience in the real estate industry, including individual careers as professional realtors.

Weekend inspection appointments are available when needed to help you work around your own busy Monday – Friday schedule

Ben Chambless
Professional Home Inspector & Realtor
Ben Chambless has a diverse background in the construction and real estate industries, and his immense knowledge is an indispensable asset to Birmingham home-buyers. Ben has a background in commercial and industrial construction, with 30 years total as a specialist in engineering design and project management.
In addition to using that knowledge in his work as a home inspector, Ben also teaches others as an Adjunct Instructor at UAB School of Engineering and at Samford University for the Architectural Design program. On top of all that experience, Ben has been a realtor since 2014, helping families find and secure their dream homes.
Ben is a soccer coach who has helped lead two state championship teams. Ben also enjoys playing golf, tennis, and traveling whenever he gets the chance.
Stacy Reed
Professional Home Inspector & Realtor
Stacy Reed is incredibly proud to hold the distinction of being Central Alabama’s first female home inspector. Stacy has always been known for her strong attention to detail, and it certainly shows in her exceptional work as a professional home inspector.
Stacy’s background is in business management, with over 20 years of experience in quality and safety compliance, report writing, and customer relationship management. Stacy is also a professional realtor, further helping Good Cents Inspections’ one-of-a-kind perspective on how to successfully buy or sell a home.
In her free time, Stacy enjoys taking beach trips, playing tennis, and going fishing.
